Message Three

The Victory of the Overcomers Seen with Daniel and His Companions

THE EXTRACT OF THE OUTLINES

Scripture reading:

Dan. 1:8 But Daniel set his heart not to defile himself with the king’s choice provision and with the wine that the king drank, so he requested of the leader of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

I. The principle of the Lord’s recovery is seen in Daniel and his companions, who were overcomers, being absolutely one with God to overcome the schemes of Satan; Nebuchadnezzar changed their names, which originally indicated that they belonged to God, to names that made them one with the idols—Dan. 1:6-7; 2:13, 17; Rev. 17:14. (Monday)

II. Daniel and his companions overcame the demonic diet—Dan. 1:

————————————————————————

A. If Daniel and his companions had eaten that food, they would have accepted defilement and idols and thus would have become one with Satan—Dan. 1:8-16; cf. 1 Cor. 10:19-21. (Tuesday)

B. When Daniel and his companions rejected the unclean food and chose to eat vegetables, in principle, they were rejecting the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and receiving the tree of life to make them one with God; the Lord’s recovery is the recovery of eating Jesus for the building up of the church—Rev. 2:7, 17; 3:20.

III. Daniel and his companions overcame the demonic blinding that hinders people from seeing the great image and the smiting stone—Dan. 2.

————————————————————————

IV. Daniel and his companions overcame the temptation to worship idols; they had a real spirit of martyrdom; Christ as the Son of Man came to be with the suffering overcomers, making the fire a pleasant place—Dan. 3; Heb. 4:15-16; Matt. 4:9-10. (Wednesday)

————————————————————————

V. Daniel and his companions overcame the covering that hindered people from seeing the heavenly authority of the God of the heavens; in order that Christ may have the first place, we were chosen by God to be under God’s heavenly authority—Dan. 4; Col. 1:18; Rom. 8:28-29. (Thursday)

————————————————————————

VI. Daniel and his companions overcame the ignorance concerning the consequences of being loose and wild before God and blaspheming God’s holiness; Belshazzar suffered loss as a result of taking the vessels of the temple to worship idols—Dan. 5; 5:18, 20. (Friday)

————————————————————————

VII. Daniel and his companions overcame the scheme that forbade the overcomers from worshipping God faithfully; the intrinsic secret of this chapter is man’s prayer to carry out God’s economy—Dan. 6: (Saturday)

A. The center of Daniel 6 is man’s prayer to carry out God’s economy; apart from prayer, there is no other way to bring God’s economy to its fullness and consummation—Dan. 6:10.

B. Daniel opened his windows toward Jerusalem and prayed three times a day; when our prayer is toward Christ, toward the kingdom of God, and toward the house of God, God will surely hear our prayer—1 Kings 8:48-49.

OPENING WORD OF THE PROPHESYING MEETING

Reading the verses in each day.

Reading the main points in the outlines.

Pray-reading the verses:

But Daniel set his heart not to defile himself with the king’s choice provision and with the wine that the king drank, so he requested of the leader of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself—Dan. 1:8.

Now when Daniel came to know that the writing had been signed, he went to his house (in his upper room he had windows open toward Jerusalem) and three times daily he knelt on his knees and prayed and gave thanks before his God, because he had always done so previously. Then these men assembled and found Daniel making petition and supplication before his God—Dan. 6:10-11.

Word of Appetizer

The principle of the Lord’s recovery is seen in “Daniel and his companions,” who were overcomers, absolutely one with God, overcoming which schemes of Satan?

This victory was over demonic food (1:3-21); over the demonic blinding that prevented men from seeing the great human image in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream (the totality of human government in all human history) (ch. 2); over the temptation of idol worship (ch. 3); over the covering that hindered men from seeing the heavenly rule of the God of the heavens (ch. 4); over the ignorance concerning the consequences of debauchery and blaspheming the holiness of God before Him (ch. 5); and over the scheme that forbade the overcomers from faithfully worshipping God (ch. 6).

Spiritual Burden

The principle of the Lord’s recovery is seen in “Daniel and his companions,” who were overcomers, absolutely one with God, overcoming the schemes of Satan.

The corporate Christ (the stone and the mountain), who is the Bridegroom and the bride, the corporate man of God who has the breath of God, will smash and slay the Antichrist and his army with the breath of His mouth, which is the sword.

Concluding Word of the Prophesying Meeting

The Revelation of the Truth

The principle of the Lord’s recovery is seen in “Daniel and his companions” (Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah), who were overcomers, absolutely one with God, overcoming the schemes of Satan.

Daniel and his companions overcame the demonic food; the demonic blinding that prevented men from seeing the great human image in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream (the totality of human government in all human history); the temptation of idol worship; the covering that hindered men from seeing the heavenly rule of the God of the heavens; the ignorance concerning the consequences of debauchery and blaspheming the holiness of God before Him; and the scheme that forbade the overcomers from faithfully worshipping God.

The Experience of Life

The Lord’s recovery is the recovery of eating Jesus for the building up of the church; we can eat Jesus by eating the Lord’s word and by being careful to contact those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart and by being with them.

Christ is the precious living stone, foundation stone, cornerstone, and topstone of God’s building, transfusing us with His own preciousness to transform us into precious living stones for His building.

Practice and Application

In order that Christ may have the first place, we have been chosen by God to be His people under the heavenly rule of God for the purpose of Christ having the first place.

There is no other way to bring God’s economy to its fullness and completion except by prayer; when our prayers are directed toward the goal in God’s eternal economy, that is, toward Christ (typified by the holy land), toward the kingdom of God (typified by the holy city), and toward the house of God (typified by the holy temple), God will surely hear our prayers.

PROPHESYING TOPICS—TWELVE TOPICS PER WEEK

Day 1

T1 Daniel and his companions overcoming the subtlety of Satan (Dan. 1:3-4).

(Please illustrate which aspects of the Devil’s subtlety Daniel and his companions overcame.)

T2 All the temptations that come to us are related to eating (Dan. 1:8).

(Please illustrate that in refusing to eat the unclean food, Daniel and his companions were actually rejecting the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and receiving the tree of life.)

Day 2

T1 If we eat the food that is of God, we will be one with God (Dan. 1:8, 16).

(Please illustrate with experience that we must be careful in our eating, our shopping, the places we go, and the things we do; otherwise, it is quite possible for us to receive things related to idols.)

T2 We need to eat Jesus to grow, to be transformed, and to be built up together (Gen. 2:9; Rev. 2:7).

(Based on the verses listed in this question, Please illustrate how consistent the whole Bible is regarding eating to produce the building.)

Day 3

T1 Satan devising a scheme to entice the young overcomers among God’s failed chosen people to worship idols (Dan. 3:17-18).

(Please illustrate how the three overcomers answered Nebuchadnezzar when he threatened to cast them into the blazing furnace.)

T2 God did not need to deliver them out of the furnace; He kept them in the furnace but nullified the power of the fire (Dan. 3:25).

(Please illustrate with experience how Christ takes care of us in our sufferings, making the place of our suffering a pleasant situation.)

Day 4

T1 The purpose of the heavenly rule is to perfect God’s chosen people so that Christ may have the first place (Dan. 4:34-35).

(Please illustrate that in our universe many things happen every day for the purpose of giving Christ the first place.)

T2 The Most High is the Ruler over the kingdom of men (Dan. 4:25, 34-37).

(Please illustrate that Nebuchadnezzar’s praise at the end of chapter 4 indicates that he indeed learned the lesson to humble himself and know God.)

Day 5

T1 Belshazzar’s debauchery before God (Dan. 5:5, 25-28).

(While Belshazzar was engaged in debauchery before God, the fingers of a man’s hand suddenly appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace, opposite the lampstand. What were the words that were written, and what was their interpretation?)

T2 In the first five chapters of Daniel, there are many lessons for us to learn (5:22-23).

(Please illustrate what lessons we need to learn in Daniel chapters 1 and 5.)

Day 6

T1 The center of Daniel 6 is man’s prayer to carry out God’s economy (Dan. 6:10-11).

(Please illustrate that God carries out His economy on earth through man as the channel of His faithful prayer.)

T2 Prayer is the life-pulse of the Lord’s recovery (Dan. 6:10-11).

(Please illustrate that the more Satan tries to frustrate our prayer, the more we should pray.)
