As Revealed In Philippians
Message Two
Learning the Secret of Doing All Things
in Christ as the Empowering One for Us
to Live Christ, Magnify Christ, and Gain Christ
for His Glory in the Church
OPENING WORD OF THE PROPHESYING MEETING
Reading the verses in each day.
Reading the main points in the outlines.
Pray-reading the verses:
Phil. 4:13 I am able to do all things in Him who empowers me.
Phil. 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses every man’s understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Word of Appetizer
What is the practical way to do all things in Christ as the empowering One?
The practical way to do all things in Christ as the empowering One is seen in Philippians 4:6-7: “In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses every man’s understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus”.
To learn the secret of doing all things in Christ as the empowering One is to “pray to fellowship with Jesus,” who is our King, our Lord, our Head, and our Husband; prayer that contacts God consists of words spoken genuinely from the heart.
Spiritual Burden
The believers are disciples, learners, who are learning the secret, which is to learn Christ as the reality is in Jesus by allowing the Spirit of reality to guide them into all the reality of the actual condition of the life of Jesus as recorded in the four Gospels, a life in which Jesus did everything in God, with God, and for God. To learn the secret of doing all things in Christ as the empowering One is to “pray to fellowship with Jesus,” who is our King, our Lord, our Head, and our Husband; prayer that contacts God consists of words spoken genuinely from the heart.
Concluding Word of the Prophesying Meeting
The Revelation of the Truth
Paul learned the secret of doing all things in Christ as the empowering One.
The believers are disciples, learners, who are learning the secret, which is to learn Christ as the reality is in Jesus by allowing the Spirit of reality to guide them into all the reality of the actual condition of the life of Jesus as recorded in the four Gospels, a life in which Jesus did everything in God, with God, and for God; God was in His living, and He was one with God.
The secret in Philippians 4 is to do all things in Christ as the One who empowers us.
The Experience of Life
The result of practicing fellowship with God in prayer is that we enjoy the peace of God; the peace of God is actually God as peace infused into us through our fellowship with Him by prayer, as the counterpoise to troubles and the antidote to anxiety.
The God of peace patrols before our hearts and thoughts in Christ, keeping us calm and tranquil; if we would have a life free of anxiety, we need to realize that all our circumstances, good or bad, have
been assigned to us by God in order to serve us in fulfilling our destiny to gain Christ, live Christ, and magnify Christ.
Practice and Application
To learn the secret of doing all things in Christ as the empowering One is to “pray to fellowship with Jesus,” who is our King, our Lord, our Head, and our Husband (Hymns, #784); prayer that contacts God consists of words spoken genuinely from the heart.
We may be in a situation of sorrow, depression, and disappointment; we should bring our problems to the Lord and tell Him about them; He is the best listener; He knows our emotion, and He sympathizes with our heart; He can comfort us and help us.
PROPHESYING TOPICS—TWELVE TOPICS PER WEEK
Day 1
T1 The words I have learned the secret are an interpretation of the Greek word which means “I have been initiated” (Phil. 4:11-13)
(Taking Paul as an example, illustrate that the metaphor is that of a person being initiated into a secret society with instruction in its rudimentary principles.)
T2 The secret is not that Christ is in us; it is that we are in Him (Phil. 4:12-13)
(Please illustrate that the secret of being in Him needs to be practiced. How can we practice this secret?)
Day 2
T1 Christ disciples all His followers for three and a half years (Eph. 4:20-21; Matt. 11:29)
(Please illustrate that how the followers of Christ are discipled.)
T2 Christ is not only life to us but also an example (Matt. 11:29; John 13:15)
(Please illustrate that we learn from Him according to His example, not by our natural life but by Him as our life.)
Day 3
T1 And be found in Him (2 Cor. 12:2; Phil. 3:9)
( Paul expected to be found in Christ by all who observed him. What does this indicate that Paul expects?)
T2 Experiencing Christ as the empowering One (Phil. 4:13; Eph. 3:17)
(Please illustrate that how we should prepare the way for Himto empower us.)
Day 4
T1 All our circumstances, good or bad, have been assigned to us by God (Phil. 4:6-7)
(Please illustrate with experiences that sometimes good health does not perfect us as much as a period of illness. when our health fails, we may be more inclined to pray than when we are in good health.)
T2 Realizing that every circumstance was for our good (Phil. 1:20; 4:6-7)
(Please illustrate that we can be freed from worry not because God has promised us a life without suffering, but because we know that all our circumstances come to us as God’s assignment.)
Day 5
T1 The Lord allows others to tell Him anything (Matt. 14:12; Mark 6:30)
(Please illustrate with experiences that the Lord Jesus is a person in whom men can most easily confide.)
T2 No matter what we tell Him, He will listen (Matt. 14:12; Mark 6:30)
(Please illustrate with experiences that our Lord is willing to bear all our anxieties and patient to listen to our speaking.)
Day 6
T1 Our complaining may be the best prayer, the most pleasant prayer to God (Psa. 142:2; Rom. 8:29)
(Please illustrate that God is causing all things to work together for good that we may be conformed to the image of His firstborn Son.)
T2 Once we are in the spirit and in the church, we will have another view of the situation (Psa. 73:16-17)
(Please illustrate that why the psalmist obtained the solution to his question in the sanctuary of God.)
