Message Four
God’s Words—
the Divine Supply as Food

OPENING WORD
OF THE PROPHESYING MEETING

Reading the verses in each day.

Reading the main points in the outlines.

Pray-reading the verses:

Jer. 15:16 Your words were found and I ate them, and Your word became to me the gladness and joy of my heart, for I am called by Your name, O Jehovah, God of hosts.

Col. 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God.

Word of Appetizer

What is the divine concept concerning God’s word?

The divine concept concerning God’s word is that it is food by which we are nourished. Jeremiah 15:16 says, “Your words were found and I ate them.” Jeremiah took the word as food to eat. Every word that proceeds out through the mouth of God is spiritual food to nourish us; this is the food by which we must live.

Spiritual Burden

According to the entire revelation in the Holy Bible, God’s words are good for us to eat, and we need to eat them. The more we eat God’s words, the more we will be constituted and saturated with Christ.

We need to let the word of Christ dwell in us richly and have the first place in our being. We need to let the word of Christ dwell in us so that we may experience the functions of the word of God operating within us, ministering the riches of Christ into our being.

CONCLUDING WORD
OF THE PROPHESYING MEETING

The Revelation of the Truth

Your words were found and I ate them.

Your word became to me / The gladness and joy of my heart.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.

The Experience of Life

When we eat God’s words, His word becomes our heart’s gladness and joy. After God’s words are taken into us and are assimilated into our inward parts, these words become joy within and gladness without.

The word of God enlightens, nourishes, and waters us to quench our thirst. The word of God strengthens, washes, and builds us up.

Practice and Application

Whenever we read the Bible, we must come to the Lord for life and eat the bread of life. The way to eat the Lord is to pray the Word; to pray-read the Word of God is to exercise our spirit to eat the word. We need to keep our whole being with all our inward parts open to the Lord so that the spiritual food will have a thoroughfare within us.

We need to let the word of Christ dwell in us richly and have the first place in our being. The word of Christ is already present, but we need to allow it to operate within us.

PROPHESYING TOPICS—
TWELVE TOPICS PER WEEK

Day 1

T1: Christians need to daily contact the Lord, be touched by the Spirit, and receive more life (Matt. 4:4; John 6:63).

(Please use your experience to explain that we can do this by touching the Word.)

T2: The Bible as the Word of God is composed of three elements—Christ, the death of Christ, and the resurrection of Christ (Phil. 1:20-21; 3:10-11).

(Please use your experience to explain that we will be supplied with life by the Word of God and the negative things within us will be killed.)

Day 2

T1: Your words were found and I ate them…O Jehovah, God of hosts” (Jer. 15:16).

(Please use your experience to explain that Jeremiah 15:16 indicates that the word of God is good for us to enjoy.)

T2: The Word of the Lord is food for us to feed on to nourish our spirit (Psa. 119:103; Matt. 4:4; Heb. 5:12-14; 1 Pet. 2:2-3).

(Please explain How the whole Bible emphasizes the matter of eating?)

Day 3

T1: Five characteristics of the Lord as the bread of life (John 6:41, 33, 35, 51, 32).

(Please use your experience to explain that the Lord is Spirit, so we must use our spirit to eat Him.)

T2: As we eat the Lord Jesus, we need to have proper spiritual digestion (Eph. 5:17-18; Rev. 10:9-10).

(Please use your experience to explain that to pray-read the Word of God is to exercise our spirit to eat the word.)

Day 4

T1: “Your word became to me / The gladness and joy of my heart” (Jer. 15:16b).

(Please use your experience to explain that the word of God not only has the ability to supply man but can also change him completely.)

T2: When we are in the Spirit, we are joyful (Rom. 14:17).

(The prayer of asking for patience is wrong; why?)

Day 5

T1: The words which the Lord has spoken to us are spirit and are life (John 6:63).

(Please use your experience to explain that the word, the Spirit, and life are three-in-one.)

T2: Let the word of Christ dwell in us richly (Col. 3:16).

(The word of Christ should dwell in us; please explain what this implies.)

Day 6

T1: Giving the word of Christ the full liberty, freedom, and right (Eph. 3:16-17).

(Please explain how we let the word of Christ dwell in us richly.)

(Please give examples to explain at least eight aspects of the functions of the word of God.)
